What is a beauceron?

The Beauceron is a very old breed developed in France, first mentioned in the late 1500’s. It is a general purpose breed, originally developed to guard the farm and herd sheep and cattle, as well as protecting the home and family. These days, in addition to farm work, they make wonderful active companions. They are intelligent, tireless, and eye-catching dogs that need to keep their minds and bodies busy.

“Val” is a gorgeous puppy with a lot of potential. In her puppy aptitude testing she showed medium assertiveness, high confidence, motivation level, and nerve strength. She also showed medium energy level and touch tolerance, with low sight and sound sensitivity. Her prey drive and pack drive both tested as high. Val began life with early neurological stimulation, early scent introduction, and handling skills started at 3 days of age. She continued with those handling skills along with added age appropriate socialization and exposure activities. She has already begun crate training, house training, and basic obedience as well. She is doing very well with sit, down, walking on leash, recall, and place already. Val is very quick to learn and would be a wonderful girl for an active home or sport/working home.
