Doberman Puppy

the first step

If you are interested in reserving a puppy from us, the first step is to complete our puppy application. This application gives us important information that we need in order to match you with a puppy that will best fit your lifestyle and needs. Once approved you are able to make a reservation for a puppy.

In many cases our puppies will be spoken for prior to their birth, so if you are looking for something specific it is important to make a reservation with us rather than waiting for a puppy to come available on our website. With the most popular gender and color combinations, we often never have them not reserved prior to the litter being whelped.

Reservations

Our reservations are $500, are non-refundable, and are made for a type of puppy rather than a specific puppy, as we match puppies based on temperament and what will fit best with your lifestyle. We do not match puppies based on appearance/size/etc. You are more than welcome to specify the gender and color you prefer, and we will have these specifics noted with your reservation. If we do not have a puppy that is suitable for you in a litter, we will roll the deposit to the next litter. We would much rather you wait a bit longer for the right puppy than you take home a puppy that will not fit in with your lifestyle. This will make both you and the puppy unhappy, and that is the opposite of our goal.

Once we receive your application we will respond with information on how to move forward with a reservation.

Puppy Aptitude Testing

Our puppy aptitude testing is conducted at 7 weeks of age. We use these results, along with the constant supervision we give them as they grow, to ascertain which puppy will be the best fit for which type of home. Even puppies in the same litter can vary quite a bit in aptitude. Some puppies may be excellent working prospects, while others will make wonderful family companions, with others having great potential for performance sports. It is important to us that we pair our puppies the best we can so both you and the puppy are happy. A working quality puppy placed in a family companion home will not be fulfilled and will cause problems - not because they are bad dogs but because they just aren’t receiving the amount of training and mental stimulation that they truly need. In contrast a puppy that is lower drive that may be a great fit for a companion home will be a disappointment to someone that wants to compete in bite sports. This is why we place so much importance in matching puppies appropriately based on their aptitude rather than their appearance.

Ear Cropping

Ear crops are done at 7 weeks of age. This is our typical age but could potentially vary slightly depending on scheduling requirements. We will have sutures removed prior to puppies going home, so there will be no worries with having to take care of this yourself. We are happy to help in the posting process and have video tutorials as well.

Training Program Options

We have a variety of training programs available for our puppies. Learn more specifics on our training programs page. Regardless of the program you choose, puppies stay with us the entirety of the program and we recommend coming in person to pick up so you can receive a lesson going over all details of the puppy’s training and learn how to handle the puppy.
